I bought this car sight unseen earlier this year. My intentions were to purchase a roadster and make this coupe into a decent nice car again. Unfortunately my situation has changed and I cannot sustain a project of this magnitude nor do I have storage space to keep it until my situation changes again. So I am offering it up for sale mainly to recuperate my investment.
When I bought this car it had no title and no keys. The car had been abandoned in Pensacola for a number of years. I went through the proper legal processes to get a new title issued. The car is offered for sale with a clean Mississippi title and a key issued by BMW dealership.
The car had a busted left front quarter window and the passenger side window was not up all the way so there was rain getting into the car which eventually destroyed the seats and some of the rest of the interior. I sourced a roadster quarter window before I found out that it was an incorrect shape. The passenger window I was able to move up to a closed position but I thing the regulator has some stripped teeth.
The car was in a front end collision prior to being abandoned. I have a Carfax that shows this as well, that claims the vehicle was operational. While there doesn’t seem to be any damage to the core support and or any substructure, the hood is dented and the headlights have some broken tabs making them loose, however the lenses are not cracked and the bumper seems unaffected.
The odometer says 232k Miles...
In order to get the car running I did the following:
-Drained the old fuel
-Flushed the fuel lines
-Installed a new fuel filter
-cleaned the injectors
-Changed the oil, and filter
-topped off the coolant,
-installed a new fan clutch and fan (the one in the car was missing fan blades)
-installed new plugs
-clean the throttle body (was stuck, moves freely now)
The car starts and runs but will need more attention before it’s driveable reliably. (Video in the comments)Car seems to go into gear just fine and will move on it’s own power. Brakes need some attention.
-Car will also come with a new Delphi fuel pump, but the pump installed was providing sufficient pressure so we did not think it needed to be replaced.
Rear chassis looks to be in good condition with no weld separation
This car needs a full restoration, without a doubt but there is no rust and that makes me feel that it’s worth saving. Unfortunately I don’t have the means to do it, so perhaps someone can use this car to suit their needs.
The car is located in Biloxi Mississippi at my friends shop. The title is also in his name even so you will be dealing with him directly. I can answer any questions you have.
