This 2001 BMW Z3 Coupe is a sunroof-delete example that is finished in black over black leather and includes the sport package. The 3.0L M54 inline-six is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, and modifications include a Dinan cold air intake and Stage 2 software tune, as well as a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. The seller has added 1,500 of the 69k indicated miles since purchasing the car in May 2018, and maintenance performed in July included replacement of the spark plugs, differential fluid, valve cover gasket, rear tires, and engine oil. This Z3 is now being offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report, service records, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The car is one of 209 Z3 coupes finished in black over black, only 18 of which are sunroof-delete examples. The bumpers show evidence of touch-ups in places, and the seller notes a few rain spots on the roof as detailed in the gallery. The recent Carfax shows no history of accidents or other damage. Note the rear badge delete and Magnaflow exhaust tips.
The sport package includes a 25% locking rear differential, mesh front air dam, and 17″ Style 32 wheels. Kumho Ecsta 4X tires measure 225/45 up front, and the 245/40 rears were replaced by the seller.
Interior features include an M-sport steering wheel, Harman Kardon audio, and wood accents. Minor wear can be seen on center stack control surfaces, and a few scratches are visible on the center console. The digital odometer shows approximately 69k miles, 1,500 of which were added by the seller over the last few months.
The sport package includes deep-bolstered power seats, which are upholstered in black Nappa leather.
The rear hatch cargo area includes an M-sport mat and houses the 6-disc CD changer and BMW Moblity kit. The seller notes that the rear subframe welds have been inspected and were found to be free of cracks.
The 3.0L M54 inline-six is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and 25% locking rear differential with an optional shorter final drive ratio. Stock output was 225 horsepower when new, though a Dinan cold air intake and Stage 2 software tune were added under prior ownership.
Service performed in July 2018 included replacement of the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, rear differential fluid, and engine oil and filter. The cooling system was reportedly overhauled in 2015 with a new radiator, thermostat, fan, water pump, drive belts, and pulley tensioner. A new MAF unit was also installed at that time.
Service records date back to 2002 and are believed to document most of the work performed over the years. The seller reports a 2013 clutch replacement, as well as new front brake pads and rotors in 2014.
Options and equipment are shown on the original window sticker, which is included in the sale.
The Carfax documents an accident-free history under owners in Washington, DC, Tennessee, and other Eastern states.
