Seller Description

This 1999 BMW Z3 Coupe was first registered in Colorado, where it remained until being titled in Michigan after the current owner’s purchase two years ago. It is finished in black over black and is powered by a 2.8-liter M52/TU inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Modifications are said to include Dinan ECU software, a Dinan strut bar, a Dinan intake, Vogtland height-adjustable coilovers, Bilstein rear shocks, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, and BBS RSII wheels. Recent service reportedly included replacement of the center driveshaft bearing and driveshaft universal joints. This Z3 shows 103k miles and is now offered by the seller in Texas on behalf of his father with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title.

This example is one of 209 produced in Schwarz II over black leather. Rock chips noted on the front bumper are detailed in the gallery. The seller states that the car underwent a paint correction in 2019.

The 17″ BBS RSII two-piece wheels show curb rash and wear Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Vogtland coilovers and Bilstein rear shocks have been added.

The interior features black Nappa leather sport seats, Harman-Kardon sound, a glass sunroof, and fine wood trim. A MOMO Prototipo steering wheel and a Kenwood head unit have been added. The gauge faces have also been replaced with white dials, and the shift knob was replaced with a Rennstall Type 3 unit.

The digital odometer shows 103k miles, approximately 23k of which were added by the seller. The airbag light is currently illuminated. A start-up clip is provided above.

The 2.8-liter M52/TUB28 inline-six is equipped with double VANOS variable valve timing and was rated at 190 horsepower from the factory. It is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and a 25% locking rear differential. A Dinan ECU tune, a Dinan intake, and a Dinan strut tower brace have reportedly been added.

The seller states that he replaced the center driveshaft bearing and driveshaft universal joints in November 2019. The gallery includes additional underside photos.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other issues and lists registration history in Colorado and Michigan.

This coupe was once in Colorado and even stopped by my house a few years ago. It's had a couple changes since we last saw it including the steering wheel, shift knob and suspension. The mileage has gone up too. The price is probably ok.
