Seller Description

This 2001 BMW Z3 3.0i is a “slicktop” coupe that is finished in metallic silver over black leather and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2018 following time with two previous owners in California and Washington State. The car is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, and equipped with a limited-slip differential as well as fog lamps, power-adjustable and heated seats, air conditioning, and Harman Kardon audio. This Z3 indicates 63k miles and is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean Washington title.

The car is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic (354) and was delivered from the factory without a sunroof. The Carfax report shows damage occurred to the front right of the body in May 2017, which required the hood, front bumper cover, and right door to be repainted by RNR Automotive Refinishing of Bellevue, Washington. The rear bumper cover and fuel door were also resprayed by the same facility at that time. The selling dealer notes chips are visible in the windshield and on the front bumper cover.

Factory 17″ wheels wear 225/45 and 245/40 Continental ExtremeContact tires. The front control arm bushings were replaced by Bellevue BMW of Washington in 2018, and the selling dealer notes the front right shock is newer than the left. Clear coat peeling and curb rash can be seen on the wheels.

The cockpit is upholstered in black Nappa leather (Q8SW) with a matching dash and door panels, while the center stack is accented with brushed aluminum trim. Amenities include power-adjustable and heated seats as well as air conditioning, a BMW business CD player, and a Harmon Kardon sound system. The leather on the door panels was repaired by Colormasters Northwest of Bellevue, Washington, and the left door handle latch and lock were replaced by the selling dealer. The left window regulator has also been fitted with new clips.

A leather-wrapped M Sport steering wheel frames a 155-mph speedometer and tachometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The odometer indicates 63k miles, of which approximately 500 have been added by the selling dealer. The air bag light is illuminated.

The 3.0-liter M54 inline-six was factory-rated at 225 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque when new. Work performed by BMW of Bellevue, Washington in 2018 included the following parts replacements, services, and fluid changes:

  • Intake air boots
  • Exhaust camshaft sensor
  • Spark plugs
  • A VANOS oil line
  • The power steering line from the reservoir to the pump
  • Air filter
  • Completion of a valve adjustment
  • Flushes of the coolant and brake fluid
  • Differential oil change

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed automatic transmission and a factory limited-slip differential. An oil and filter change was performed by the selling dealer in April 2020.

The March 2020 Carfax report shows the aforementioned May 2017 damage and lists emissions testing, registration, and service history with two previous owners in California and Washington State.

We last saw this coupe for sale privately in 2018, and it only has ~1k new miles since then. It still looks good. One interesting thing of note is that it has the smaller rear handle from a 2.8 coupe rather than the wider 3.0 version.
