Seller Description

2000 Z3 Coupe Extensively Restored to Virtually New Drive Anywhere Condition

Owned and driven by longtime auto, travel and tourism writer, offered for sale in Northwest Florida.

Few automobiles have earned the cult following and collector status enjoyed by BMW’s legendary Z3 Coupe. Known affectionately among enthusiasts as the “Clown Shoe” for its distinctive shooting-brake profile, the Z Coupe represents one of BMW’s boldest and most memorable designs—combining sports car performance, hatchback practicality, and unmistakable styling into a package that continues to attract attention more than two decades after its introduction.

This restored and exceptionally well-sorted 2000 BMW Z3 Coupe, finished in the highly desirable Brilliant Silver Metallic over Black Leather color combination.

Powered by BMW’s celebrated 2.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine and paired with the enthusiast-preferred 5-speed manual transmission, this 2000 Z3 Coupe delivers a like new engaging analog driving experience that you just can’t find in new sportscars. From the moment you slip behind the wheel, this ground up restored Z Coupe reminds you why you love the classic Clown Shoe.

Beyond its performance credentials, this particular example offers a level of rarity that further distinguishes it among collectors. According to various BMW enthusiast registries and ownership groups, showing this Z Coupe’s VIN is identified as number 10 of only 13 examples believed to have been produced in the coveted combination of Brilliant Silver Metallic paint, Black Leather interior, factory sunroof, and 5-speed manual transmission, M package and options.

The vehicle has benefited from a recent extensive drivetrain out restoration, including total refurbishment of the cooling system, suspension, braking components, HVAC, front subframe replacement, rear sub custom rebuild, head lights, tail lights, market lights, windshield, all rubber window and body trim, bushings, bolts, emblems, and more. All in in the past five years and 10,000 miles.

This Coupe shows a remarkable 200,130 miles on its original odometer, though almost every mechanical part has been replaced or refurbished, and is the result of careful stewardship, resulting in a remarkably clean and visually striking example.

The photographs provided on various sites and Will Estell’s own Marketplace listing reveal a car that presents beautifully from every angle, from its aggressive front fascia and sculpted fenders to its unmistakable coupe roofline and muscular rear haunches. Equally impressive is the clean engine bay and enthusiast-focused interior, which further reflect the attention devoted to preserving and enhancing the vehicle.

Adding another unique chapter to the car’s story, this very BMW Z3 Coupe was recently featured on the cover of “Pensacola City Lifestyle” magazine’s June 2026 Men’s Issue where it served as the centerpiece vehicle for one of the publication’s signature editorial features. That distinction adds an unusual layer of provenance seldom found among collector automobiles and further enhances the car’s appeal among European sports car enthusiasts.

At only $23,000 USD, this well-sorted and highly restored Z Coupe represents exceptional value for a legitimately rare BMW in such condition. Comparable Z Coupes continue to gain recognition among collectors nationwide, with enthusiasts increasingly seeking original, manual-transmission examples that offer both rarity and long-term appreciation potential.

For collectors, BMW enthusiasts, and drivers who appreciate the increasingly uncommon combination of rarity, analog performance, and distinctive design, this 2000 BMW Z3 Coupe represents a unique opportunity to acquire one of BMW’s most celebrated modern classics.

Priced at $23,000 with seller offering to assist with shipping details to US or foreign destinations.

A lot has been done to this coupe over the last few years. It does look good overall for the very high mileage and seems like a  solid car. Not all the aesthetic modifications will be to everyone's taste. The price is up there for the mileage and color combo.
