Seller Description

This would be a great Christmas present for uhm, uhh, uhm, uhh, yourself LoL! Real attention getter of a car. Yes people will stare when you pull into a gas station. You have probably seen many, many Roadster Z3 convertibles but the hardtop Coupes are a rare find. Even more rare is finding one with the skylight roof. This was to be my midlife crisis car but I've been out of work since 29 Sep and before we get to beans and wieners I've started selling off some toys. Sold the Bowflex Revolution last week and now up for sale is my sweet little 2002 (last year of production) BMW Z3 with a little over 200K on the odometer. Don't let the mileage be of concern as Bimmers go forever. Has factory Harmon Kardon stereo system with CD player and a sensitive tuner that sucks in the radio stations. The heated seats are VERY nice in winter. Has remote mirrors and electric windows of course. Prior owner (his nephew is my mechanic) stated the car has had synthetic oil since day one. I've had it for a year and a half in my garage (rolled it out for some pics). Take it our for a spin every couple of weeks to keep it limber. Before prior owner signed the title and gave me possession, I had a chance to drive it down to Ocean City, MD and it ran like a finely tuned fighter jet. This is a very fast car. Has the slap stick automatic that can out shift any manual tranny version of this car. Shifts as smooth as butter and the torque of the 3 Liter inline 6 is amazing! BMW has perfected this engine over decades and it's pretty bulletproof and not temperamental. Tires have less than a few hundred miles on them. New battery installed two weeks ago.

Here's what still needs fixing:
- some light bulbs need replacing in the dash
- A/C hose is cracked but compressor is fine so replace the hose, vacuum the system, recharge and enjoy the cold A/C next summer.
- Blower motor (for interior vents) only blows on high - lower blower fan speeds aren't there. The heater makes the interior warm and toasty.
- Driver's window sometimes goes up, sometimes it doesn't so the electric window mechanism needs a going over. Motor was replaced so there's a sensor somewhere that needs replacing?
- Slow battery drain. This is a common problem in a Z and from what I read on the blogs is that it has something to do with the subwoofer to the factory stereo draining the battery but haven't researched enough to do the fix. Car has a brand new battery with 2 year non-pro-rated warranty that was put in a couple weeks ago. All service lights are lit.
- Front fascia met a curb before I got it (see pic)
- Factory wheels need restoration to really look nice
- Driver's door key lock just turns and turns so needs to see a locksmith in order to lock the car.
- Seats could use a reupholster job - see pic (or just throw a set of seat covers on and have it done later)

I will include twelve new factory BMW oil filters (you can tell I meant to keep it!) so you should be good for the next 60,000 miles in the oil filter department. Has no liens on the title so show me the money and lets put your name down as the owner!

I arrived at the price based on my desire to sell quickly paired with recommendations from BMW Car Club members I talked with last spring who gave the car a good looking over and gave me their estimates based on the condition of the car and what still needs fixing. The $6500 figure kept popping up during the conversations. If I'd have known I'd be unemployed a few months later, I'd have sold it on the spot. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. Of course I have no contact info for any of the BMW fanatics I spoke with but hopefully one of them will see this ad and contact me! So, if you have ever entertained owning a Z3 Coupe (not the common Roadster seen everywhere) here's your chance to do so for a price that won't have you lying awake at nights. C'mon, Christmas is just around the corner and it would look great in your driveway (although it has been garaged most of its life).

Obviously one of my favorite Z3 Coupe color combos. It could definitely use quite a bit of TLC, but it's priced appropriately. Would make a fun project and driver.
