I really love this car, but a recent change of living, working, and parking situations means I have to give it up.
The Good:
Lots! It's mechanically sound and will take you anywhere you want to go. I always just let the dealership do whatever repairs and maintenance they deemed necessary since they always gave me sweet loaner cars. It has performed beautifully for me over the last 4 years as a commuter vehicle for a bit and on several road trips. It gets attention everywhere, brings a smile to my face whenever I walk up to it, and is a joy to drive.
The Bad:
I've wanted to upgrade/repair the wheels and paint, however I cannot find anyone around here who will repair the 2 piece wheels properly or repaint it for any less than $6k. I could ignore the front wheels, but the rear ones really need to be cosmetically repaired or replaced. I imagine someone who doesn't live around this area or who knows people in the industry can easily do better.
The Neutral but Necessary:
The front tires will need to be replaced in 10k or so - the rear ones wore out more quickly so I only replaced them.
It has an aftermarket Pioneer stereo with an old-style iPod adapter.
It still has the battery I bought it with 4 years ago, so it probably needs to be replaced before winter.
Current safety inspection is good through August.
Emissions will need to be redone in August, but neither emissions inspections revealed any problems before.
Someone tried to help me by replacing the hood emblem, but it was a cheap Amazon one and has already discolored... I have an OEM one from Pelican Parts with the grommets that will come with the car so you can replace it.
I am traveling in two weeks and need to either sell it prior or put it off until August. This does not mean I'm in a rush to sell it because I can still park it for free outside and it doesn't cost much in insurance - however, if you want it to drive this summer you should contact me sooner rather than later.
Trades I would consider:
4x4 van
High-roof Sprinter van
High-roof gas van with decent gas mileage and towing capability
Sportmobile conversion van
Class B RV in working order
