Seller Description

Doug's Take

The BMW Z3 is a neat sports car that offers a thrilling driving experience – and the uniquely-shaped coupe is a lot more uncommon and practical than the roadster! This was one of the quirkiest BMW models of the 1990s, adding a hatchback design to the popular Z3 Roadster. This example boasts a 5-speed manual transmission and the eye-catching Hellrot exterior color. It also features some great upgrades like a VF Engineering supercharger, BC Racing coilovers, and 17-inch Konig wheels. Plus, this Z3 comes with a clean, accident-free Carfax report, which adds to the appeal of this already exciting car.

Highlights

THIS… is a 1999 BMW Z3 2.8i Coupe, finished in Light Red with a Sand Beige interior.

  • This Z3 features the desirable 5-speed manual transmission.
  • The attached Carfax vehicle history report shows no accidents or mileage discrepancies.
  • A build sheet provided in the photo gallery, and a partial list of notable factory equipment reported by the seller includes a limited-slip differential, Nappa leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated seats, wood interior trim, a rear cargo cover, and air conditioning.
  • A full list of notable modifications reported by the seller is detailed below. Highlights include a VF Engineering supercharger, a shorter, 3.46 final drive ratio, BC Racing coilovers, and 17-inch Konig Ultraflow wheels.
  • Power comes from a 2.8-liter supercharged straight-6, rated at 193 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque in stock form. According to the dyno sheet pictured in the gallery, this Z3 now produces 242 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque as a result of its modifications. The supercharger is cool and pretty rare on a 2.8. It looks like there may have been an attempt at extended leather on the upper door panels too. Other than the wheels and suspension it appears to be mostly stock otherwise. It's in nice shape too. The price is probably optimistic for the mileage.
